An Amazing Dinner Party

Good Morning!

so you know those nights where your surrounded by so much good food and good wine that you just eat and drink  yourself silly

well that was last night for me but it was SO worth it

last summer my mom and I took a trip to France to attend a cooking school which I did a recap of here

some of the people who went on the trip with us including their families came over for dinner last night and we had an epic feast

the beautiful table my mom set up

the pretty water display which i should of drank more of..i was all about the wine last night 🙂

my beautiful Mommy the hostess with the mostess

we started out the meal with a cheese tray and a oyster bar

Nick the oyster man! he was shucking fresh oysters and topping them with a cocktail sauce and a really delicious cilantro sauce

he also was grilling the oysters which I had never tried before

this one was topped with a “casino butter” he made that had bacon and shallots in it. I honestly use to think I hated oysters but now I’m completely in love..i probably had about 10 different oysters they were all amazing

The main course was a seafood cioppino with lemon pasta

the cioppino had a mix of prawns, clams, cod, and crab

my plate..i went back for more crab. I could have this for dinner every day and be so content. the lemon pasta was an amazing pair to the seafood

And the dessert

omg the dessert

probably the best dessert I’ve ever had in my life and no I’m not exaggerating

A deconstructed s’more that was made with homemade graham crackers, homemade chocolate fudge sauce, and a toasted marshmellow semifredo

thank you Kathy for making this amazing dessert. I NEED to make this and get the recipe

and then share it with all of you because it was hands down the best dessert i’ve ever had. The marshmellow semifredo was like eating toasted marshmellow ice cream and it all pair perfectly with the not too sweet, kind of salty, graham cracker and decadent chocolate sauce

i want this for breakfast..too bad its pretty much all gone..except there are graham crackers left which I will be eating today

overall it was a wonderful evening with lots of good food and great company!

i’m not sure what I plan on doing today cause I don’t have work but maybe since its a rainy day I can convince my mom to go to the mall with me..:)

we shall see!

i hope everyone has a great day!

Question for ya!: Would you rather host a dinner party or attend one?

i love to do both but I love to cook for people so I’d say host one!

  1. Wow, all of this looks delicious! Even though it’s fun to play hostess, it’s far less stressful to attend a dinner party!

  2. Cait's Plate says:

Oh my gosh. That is DEFINITELY a good dinner party! Looks like so much fun 🙂

  3. Oh my gosh that looks FANTASTIC!

I would love to host, because I just love having people over… but I think I’d have to recruit someone to help me cook. I’m better at socializing than cooking 😉 haha

    • haha i love the socializing part! its always fun to have someone help do the cooking! we split up the jobs so my mom was in charge of the main course, nick was in charge of the appetizer, and our friend kathy made the dessert!

  4. I love hosting dinner parties! Okay so I’ve personally never hosted one but my parents have and I love it 🙂

  5. I like hosting and attending equally. Sometimes there is too much pressure playing hostess, and it’s a lot more fun to leave a party then it is to clean up!
